When they were about to enjoy their feast, the pesky alligator swam up to the bank and sprinted to their picnic site.The couple immediately left the blanket and watched the alligator nosh on their picnic goodies.“He annihilated an entire block of cheese,” Walters said in an interview with Fox4 News. “Gobbled it down, lickity split. The salami didn’t stand a chance.”But, that wasn’t all: The alligator then ate half a watermelon, a pound of grapes, and a fresh batch of guacamole.A Florida couple, enjoying a nice picnic by the lake, got a surprise from an unwanted guest. #FOX35 https://t.co/GMppQE2aBS— Fox 35 News (@Fox35News) June 3, 2019Walters proceeded to make a lot of noise and distract the alligator, who eventually ran back into the water.“Unfortunately it sounds like that gator has been fed previously and has lost its weariness of people and is beginning to associate people with food,” Karen Parker with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) told CBS4 Gainesville News.Parker warned people to not feed alligators, because they become a big issue for people and have to be removed by the FWC for safety reasons.
