MacAyeal, a professor of geophysical sciences at the University of Chicago who has studied the behavior of large icebergs, compared A68a with another large iceberg, B-15A. In the 2000s, B-15A struck parts of Ross Island in the Ross Sea as well as the other icebergs surrounding it, disturbing the island’s penguin colonies. Some colonies went years without hatching chicks. The disturbance led to some penguins interbreeding with those from different colonies.“This led to a genetic benefit of exchange, of genetic material from different, normally isolated, cohorts,” Dr. MacAyeal said in an email. “In my view: If A68a were to encounter the island itself or the shoals around it, it would be spectacular for a few days but would not lead to an ecosystem catastrophe.”Some experts predict A68a will eventually break into large pieces as a result of strong currents.“The Southern Ocean around South Georgia is an utterly wild place with strong currents and sea-swell that will ‘flex’ the iceberg on top of the grounding point, causing it to stress and fracture much like a ship,” Dr. MacAyeal said.If the iceberg does break close to the island’s coast, there’s the potential that it could displace large amounts of seawater “that can inundate coastal communities,” Dr. Jackson said.This kind of hazard is something experts have had to grapple with as climate change has led to ice melting and ice systems breaking at significant rates.“I am doubtful given the increasing rate of ice melt worldwide that this is the last time we’ll see this,” Dr. Jackson said. “I wouldn’t be surprised in the years to come if we continue to see bigger icebergs presenting bigger hazards to communities of people and wildlife alike.” The iceberg broke off from the Antarctic Peninsula in 2017 and is about 100 miles long and 30 miles wide. The trajectory of the iceberg could change and steer clear of the island, because it’s in the strongest ocean current where waters are not impeded by continents. In the wee hours of Saturday morning, two gun-toting bandits invaded the home of newspaper distributor Sasenarine Ramsuchit at Lot 21 “CC” Eccles New Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara.They beat the 64-year-old businessman to his head, inflicting wounds that had to receive 10 stitches; and shot his wife, 58-year-old Joyce Lauren Ramsuchit, who had to be admitted a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital.When the ordeal was finally over, the Ramsuchits had been robbed of a bag containing money and jewellery, and his son’s laptop and other electronic devices had been taken away.The injured businessman related that he was heading out of his yard to commence his daily distribution at about 03:30h when he was attacked by two armed men, who held him at gunpoint and ordered him back into the house. While in the house, the bandits ordered his wife and son into his bedroom, and instructed them to lie on the floor.The men then demanded money and jewellery, but when he hesitated to comply with their request, he was beaten to the head and other parts of his body whilst his son and wife looked on. During the ordeal, one of the men then placed a gun to his wife’s body and threatened that, if she did not hand over the money, he would shoot her. After some hesitation from the woman, the bandit discharged a round, hitting the woman to one of her legs.The men then ransacked a wardrobe, where they came across a bag containing money and jewellery. This they took, along with his son’s laptop and other electronic devices, before escaping.Ramsuchit believes that the men had been monitoring his movements over time, since they came at 03:30h, the exact time he would leave home on a daily basis. He also noted that the men emerged from behind his home, leaving him to believe that they had hidden themselves while they waited on him to exit the house.Ramsuchit detailed that after the men had left, he alerted his neighbours to what had happened, then attended to his injured wife, picking her up and taking her to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she was admitted. The bullet that was lodged in the leg has been removed.The Police were subsequently summoned, and an investigation has been launched. No arrests have as yet been made.

Companies look at their processes, see a large amount of automated test cases, and assume they are in “good shape,” he said. He said he has seen organizations select an automation tool based on a very limited developer group, but in the end, the assessment wasn’t broad enough to see how it impacted their daily activities or how it helped their agile initiatives.Brown also said that a lot of teams get into problems with their testing strategies because they rush into using an automation tool to quickly solve one problem, which means they lack the “big picture,” or what software automation can do over time for their company.“I think if operations slows down and they get guidance from people who have expertise in agile development [and] Continuous Testing, and have looked [at the tool] broadly to see how it supports the developers, the testers, the managers, and the executives,” said Brown, “most people will recognize there is value in getting a solution that covers all of those various roles.”Brown added that the one shortcut he sees companies taking is not testing adequately. He said these companies “race to market with blinders and really cross their fingers hoping they won’t get caught up with a bad defect.” The risk of not testing can be as detrimental as hurting the company’s brand or market reputation.
