Update Municipal manager ambushed on way home

first_imgWebsiteWebsiteWebsite WebsiteWebsiteWebsite WebsiteWebsiteWebsite 53-year-old Sinatra Khumalo, municipal manager of Indaka Municipality, was killed in a hail of bullets in what has been described as an ambush on his way home at around 5.30pm yesterday.Mr Khumalo was employed at Indaka Municipality in 2002 as the Corporate Service director and in 2012 was appointed in the position of Municipal Manager. His colleagues say he was a very industrious and intelligent man who had a vision for Indaka.He was one of the foremen who was actively involved in the integration between eNambithi and Indaka municipality.  “This tragic incident is a great loss to the municipality,” said a colleague who asked not to be named.At the time of the shooting, Mr Khumalo was alone, returning from work, on his way to Ladysmith, driving his white VW Combi when the vehicle was riddled with bullets, killing him instantly.At this stage, we are awaiting information from police regarding the shooting.He is survived by his wife and children.
