We’re right down to the wire and so the decision has been made – ABC has cancelled “Whiskey Cavalier” after one season. Scott Foley and Lauren Cohan starred in the action-comedy procedural about an inter-agency team of flawed, funny and heroic spies who periodically save the world. The series was one of the buzziest projects this year but never found a substantial audience and in Live+7 it averaged just a 1.3 rating and 6.9 million viewers an episode. The news is far better for NBC’s major hit family soap opera drama “This Is Us”. The network has just locked down a renewal for a further three seasons, taking the show through a sixth season in 2022. News of the multi-season renewal is not unexpected, as series co-showrunner Isaac Aptaker has previously said the plan is for the show to potentially wrap up after three more seasons. In Live+7, the third season averaged an incredibly strong 3.8 rating and 13.8 million viewers per episode.
