According to courtview, Iyapana has been in custody since September 2007, serving time on the charges of first-degree sexual assault, as well as second-degree and fourth-degree assault. Romeo Iyapana, age 30, was pronounced deceased at Alaska Regional in Anchorage after he was taken to prison’s medical ward for evaluation before being transported to Seward Providence Medical Center. A short time later, Iyapana was flown to Anchorage for further medical treatment.
