The rainout has a direct affect on the Buckeyes’ game this weekend.Ohio State and Northwestern are scheduled to play at 8:30 p.m. ET Friday night on FS1. However, today’s ALCS game between the New York Yankees and Houston Astros has been rescheduled for Friday, and it will preempt the Buckeye game.WWE SmackDown will be broadcast on FOX on Friday night, with Yankees-Astros Game 5 taking place on FS1. Ohio State-Northwestern will be moved to either BTN or Fox Business, most likely. The updated broadcast information will be available later today. Stay tuned for broadcast information for Ohio State-Northwestern now that the World Series and (for some reason) WWE are bumping the game off FS1. Most likely destination is BTN and Fox Business, but no official word yet.— Austin Ward (@AWardSports) October 16, 2019At least the game will still be available on television, though Ohio State fans are understandably unhappy about being put on the back burner. From a ratings standpoint, the arrangement also doesn’t make much sense for FOX.This is so dizzyingly dumb for the Big Ten. Nobody wanted Friday games in the first place. And while schools love the size of those paychecks, losing control of its schedule can’t possibly be worth it — even for FOX, which is now going to have the country’s biggest draw buried.— Austin Ward (@AWardSports) October 16, 2019Ohio State will look to move to 7-0 on the season against the Wildcats. The two teams last met in the 2018 Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis.Ohio State won that contest 45-24.Update: Friday’s game will officially be shown on Big Ten Network.Update: Our @OhioStateFB at @NUFBFamily game Friday night will be on @BigTenNetwork.— Bruce Feldman (@BruceFeldmanCFB) October 16, 2019Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
ABCClemson leads Louisville 24-3 late in the third quarter. The Tigers will be without freshman cornerback Andrew Booth for the rest of this one, in all likelihood. At the end of a play a few moments ago, Booth was seen clearly punching Louisville’s Trenell Troutman. The bizarre decision to punch someone in the helmet aside, there is obviously no room for it.After the play, Andrew Booth was sent to the locker room. According to those at the game, head coach Dabo Swinney did it before the referees even had the chance to eject him from the game. That was obviously coming, if anyone caught the pretty obvious punch.Video of the play: Clemson cheap shot pic.twitter.com/YYoouyOYT1— △⃒⃘ (@ItsPaoloni) October 19, 2019Clemson has full control of the game, even if Louisville has stayed in it longer than some though. The Tigers just tacked on a third touchdown of the game.Trevor Lawrence has completed 15-of-22 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns, but he does have two interceptions on the day.Travis Etienne has been the biggest weapon for Swinney’s team, as he often is. The dynamic running back has 174 yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries, with 35 receiving yards on top of it.Clemson’s fearsome defense has held Louisville’s offense to just 177 total yards on the afternoon so far.Today’s game is being broadcast on ABC.[@ItsPaoloni]
